A Personal Update from Lisa
2012 brought many challenges and lessons learned. As some of you read, I was the spouse to a job seeker for most of 2012. Thankfully my husband landed an amazing position and is loving his new job. I will say the year leading up to this fantastic news was difficult personally and professionally for us both.
We learned to lean on our faith in a mighty, gracious, and loving God who provided our every need. He provide not only financially but emotionally, socially, and of course spiritually. One quote that I found in a friends signature file sums it up for me.
“Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Leave the rest to God. Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain”
I learned to see life very differently in 2012. I learned to dance in spite of hurt. Now I plan to live simply and generously leaving it all to God.
My husband’s new role has us making a move out of the Boston area and west to Saratoga Springs, NY area. He is already living there in an temporary apartment during the week and spending his Fridays and Saturdays with us in Massachusetts. Saratoga Springs (SS as I am beginning to call it) is a beautiful area. I look forward to learning and exploring all the sites, sounds, and people that SS has to offer.
The really exciting thing is that I get to bring my Fresh Air Careers work with me! No matter where I go I bring it along. That is one of the reasons I launched in the first place – flexibility.
As I physically move my office and home in the next few months, know that I am always available to coach, speak, write and chit-chat from wherever I am. If you are in the midst of similar change, know that you are not alone. Many people go through job change and physical moves every year. It doesn’t lesson the stress but it helps me to know I am not the only business owner, mom who has done this.
I have some interesting goals for this year and hope to announce them as I achieve them. So stay in touch and keep listening in and if you can give me hints or suggestions for fun things to do in Saratoga Springs, let me know.
More success to come in 2013!
Healthy New Beginnings!
